How we are making a difference in 2026

How we’re making a difference in 2026

Twenty years in business gives you a certain perspective. You watch technology change beyond recognition, you watch the market shift through booms and downturns, and you watch client needs evolve time and time again. But if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed at NGI Finance, it’s this: business finance is still, at its heart, about people talking to people.

That’s the balance we’ve tried to strike in 2026 and it’s shaping how we’re making a difference this year by embracing the tools that make us faster and sharper, while never losing sight of the conversation that sits behind every deal we do.

Embracing the technology

There’s no getting away from it, technology is transforming business finance. Across the sector, lenders and brokers are using AI-driven credit scoring, automated document processing and faster decision making to get answers to clients in hours rather than weeks. We’ve been investing in these tools too, because speed matters. When a client needs funding to secure a piece of equipment, take on a new contract or seize an opportunity, a faster “yes” (or a faster, clearer “no”) can make all the difference.

So, this year we’ve been sharpening up our own processes, from how quickly we can gather the right information to how efficiently we can match a client with the right lender. Technology has a genuine role to play here, and we’re not shy about using it.

But never losing the conversation

Here’s the thing though, none of that matters if it comes at the cost of listening to our clients. We’ve seen plenty of finance providers lean so heavily into automation that the human element gets lost and applications turn into a box-ticking exercise rather than a conversation about what a business needs.

That’s not how we work and it never will be. Every client who comes to NGI Finance is dealing with a real business, with its own story, its own pressures and its own ambitions. A five-minute phone call can uncover context that no algorithm would ever pick up, whether that’s a seasonal cashflow pattern, a personal circumstance affecting the business, or simply a better way of structuring a deal that suits how the client operates.

So, while we’re using technology to work faster behind the scenes, our approach to clients hasn’t changed. We still pick up the phone. We still ask the follow-up question. We still take the time to understand the business, not just the numbers.

Customer service, still at the core

This has always been at the heart of what we do at NGI and 2026 is no different. Whether it’s talking a client through their options, checking in after a deal has completed, or simply being available when something’s gone wrong and they need advice, we know that good customer service is what turns a one-off transaction into a lasting relationship.

It’s also, we think, part of what has allowed us to reach 20 years in business in the first place.

Finance is a competitive market, and clients have plenty of choice about who they work with. The businesses that keep coming back to us and the ones who refer us to others, do so because of how we make them feel: heard, supported and genuinely looked after.

Grateful to our clients

Which brings us to the most important part of this post. None of what we’ve achieved this year, or over the past two decades, would have been possible without the clients who’ve trusted us with their business finance needs, many of whom have been with us for years, some for the better part of 20.

To every client who has picked up the phone, sent us an email, referred a friend or colleague, or simply given us the chance to help their business grow, we thank you. You are, quite simply, why we do what we do.

As we move through our 20th anniversary year, we’re combining the best of both worlds, smarter, faster technology working quietly in the background and the same conversations, care and commitment to customer service that have defined NGI Finance from day one. That’s how we’re making a difference in 2026 and it’s how we intend to keep making a difference for many years to come.
