Traditionally, if you were looking for some form of business finance, your first steps would be to contact your Bank Manager. Since the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) was first launched many businesses have opted to go down this conventional route and have spoken to their Bank in the first instance. This process has, however, been incredibly time consuming, firstly interviews are needed, followed by financial security checks, cashflow forecasts, interrogation of funds, evaluations of past performances and a plethora of standard bank forms requiring completion. It is thought that on average the application can take well over 5 weeks.
Using a finance broker can be far more effective. Ultimately, one call to your broker will get you to speak to somebody straight away, rather than booking a call with your Bank Manager which could take up to 2 weeks.
With a finance broker obviously, there are still some forms to be completed, you will also be asked for 6 months of bank statements, the last set of filed accounts and full Director details but the process is far quicker. Another key advantage is that a finance broker can complete a whole of market review and match you with the right lender, your Bank Manager won’t have this ability.
“Did you know on average the NGI CBILS application process takes 5 working days and funds are generally in the bank within 7 working days“
Using a finance broker for your CBILS application will truly bring broad benefits. They know exactly what a lender is looking for and can match an application to your specific criteria. In fact, here at NGI we have been approached by many companies who were frustrated with the numerous calls made to their Bank Manager and the hurdles that they were expected to overcome simply to make an application. Recently, we had a Funeral Director approach us as he was having no joy with his Bank. He made 1 phone call to us we ran through the process, collected all of the information that was needed and submitted his application. Within 5 days his money was in the bank, it really can be that quick.
With a very simple application process and money still available, we are urging all businesses to act now before it is too late. If you are considering a CBILS application then please call us on 01993 706403 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
